Joyce Shelton resides in central Florida with her husband jazz musician, Eddie Metz. She enjoys a varied career in commercial illustration and fine art painting. Adept at watercolor, pastel, oil and acrylic, her works are reminiscent of the early 20th century impressionists in their free gestures and bold use of color. Images of flowers, fruits and interiors marry color, pattern and form in works that are both personal and decorative.
Following graduation from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, her artistic journey began as a fashion illustrator for a department store. Since then, she has re-invented herself many times over from exhibiting at outdoor fine-art festivals to product design, book, menu and magazine illustration. For the past several years her attention has been focused on surface design - licensing her art for greeting cards, gifts, fabric, dinnerware and other products in the the home decor and gift industry.
