Finally, after months of trial and error, the initial run is complete. I'm sure it will evolve but a dear friend of mine always reminds me to take action... even if it is "imperfect action!" So action I am taking, Beej.
All photographed, on the website and up on the studio wall. I'll admit, it does feel good to see the group together now that all the work has been done.
A new concept in artful living. HERE'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!

On the last day of each month I will draw a name from my email list and the winner will receive a pair of earrings.
"One should either be a work of art or wear a work of art." - Oscar Wilde
"Sometimes in the winds of change we find our true direction."
I'm not sure to whom I should give credit for this quote but I like it. It keeps me going. When I read it I get a sort of validation... an ok, if you will - permission to experiment - to continue on with the search for my "true direction."Read More
Fond memories of cooking at my Grandma's have made me more than anxious for this moment! She was the best Italian cook ever and I loved to watch her make everything. Home-made pasta, and eggplant parmesan were among my favorites. Nothing- I mean nothing - topped her pie crust! I will never forget those cherished moments in Grandma's kitchen and I can hardly wait to recreate them with Avery. She's growing up way too fast already so I don't want to rush it, but I've been anxiously awaiting the moment when she could work in the kitchen with me. Mommy's birthday seemed like a great opportunity for us to make her favorite - a carrot cake.
What a fun mess we made together!
And boy did Mommy love her surprise!
Family and memories. Yep... this is what it's all about!
If, like me, you prefer to start a painting with a rough sketch or some idea of how you'd like to organize your visual space, this technique may be helpful and it’s fun.Read More
Thinking too hard, listening to our own personal critics, and allowing the outside forces of society into our minds and our studios - all of this is what holds us back. I know this to be true and yet, it’s the most difficult darn thing to shake, isn’t it?Read More

Setting the table and arranging all the goodies was so much fun! I bought a 4' plank of wood from my local big-box lumber store and placed it in the middle of the table. I covered it with plastic wrap and just started arranging the antipasti items.Read More
This past summer I was fortunate to be able to take a fabulous abstract painting workshop at The Bascom Center For the Visual Arts in Highlands, NC. I learned so much from these three fabulous artists who all took turns sharing their techniques and encouragement for three solid days of fun!Read More
Working from some photos I took of Lake Lily near my home, I decided to at least get somewhat abstract with color. I nearly painted over this at the end of my first session. I'm glad I decided to re-visit it the following morning and keep going.Read More
Nothing like a good barter trade! It's a win- win for everyone involved! This past August I visited my brother and his family in Seneca, SC. He had a couple of really nice bikes and all the expensive equipment that went with them just taking up space in his garage. As luck would have it, we were in the market for bikesRead More
This past January I began working on a goal to do more painting - just for the pure pleasure of painting. It continues to be a huge challenge but I'm determined to find my own personal voice.Read More
